My interest in antique cars began at birth. My dad was the parts manager at a local auto parts store. He always had Model A’s and I was always fascinated by them. This A-400 was bought in the early 1960’s by him and received an amateur restoration making it the family car for meets and shows through the 60’s and early 70’s. It received a frame off restoration in the early 80’s during the time I was in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It has been driven many miles to club outings, local car shows and national meets. I am a past president of both the Piedmont Region of MARC and the Central Carolina Regional Group of the Early Ford V8 Club. I am also the former national Judging Standards Committee chairman of the EFV8C. I currently have two cars under restoration…a 1937 Ford Convertible Sedan and a 1935 Ford Woodie. I have many other projects and cars including a 1930 Model A Pickup, 1931 Model A Steel Top Pickup, 1933 Ford Phaeton, 1937 Ford 5W Coupe with a pickup bed, 1937 Ford Pickup, 1956 Thunderbird, 1966 Mustang Convertible, and two 1972 Mustang Mach 1’s. Recently retired from 32 1/2 years as a school administrator, my plans are to work on these projects and get some of them completed.
